This qualification provides learners with a solid understanding of safe medication handling in health and social care. It covers different types of medication and their uses, safe procedures for obtaining, storing, administering, and disposing of medicines, as well as legislation, accountability, audit processes, and accurate record-keeping.
As a knowledge-based qualification, it does not confer occupational competence in administering medication but supports best practice and professional development in care settings.
Learners will study four mandatory units:
Assessment is through an internally assessed portfolio of evidence, including written tasks, assignments, and case studies. The course is not graded.
There is no placement requirement for this course.
