The Level 2 Certificate in Understanding the Care and Management of Diabetes gives learners a solid grounding in one of the UK’s most common long-term health conditions. Around 3.2 million people in the UK are diagnosed with diabetes, with an estimated 630,000 more living with the condition undiagnosed, making this knowledge increasingly valuable across health, social care and support roles. This qualification covers how diabetes develops, how Type 2 diabetes can be delayed through lifestyle changes, and how diabetes is diagnosed and managed day to day.

The qualification is internally assessed, with no formal exams, learners must demonstrate achievement of all learning outcomes and assessment criteria across the four units, and grades are not awarded (it’s a pass/achieve qualification)
None required, this is a knowledge-based qualification, assessed fully online with no work placement or care-setting experience needed.
There are no formal entry requirements; however, learners must be aged 16 or above.

On successful completion, you’ll receive the nationally recognised NCFE CACHE Level 2 Certificate in Understanding the Care and Management of Diabetes (Qualification Ref: 600/9311/0), awarded by NCFE, one of the UK’s longest-established awarding organisations.
